Ukraine Sent 10 Troops to a NATO Exercise and Wiped Out Two Battalions

In May 2025, NATO ran a major war game in Estonia called Hedgehog 25.
More than 16,000 troops from twelve NATO countries including a British brigade, an Estonian division, and a full Allied force package; all conducting a simulated mechanized offensive.
The opposing force or OPFOR was a Ukrainian-Estonian mixed unit, with Ukrainian drone operators pulled straight from the front lines.
In the first day, those ten Ukrainians simulated the destruction of 17 armored vehicles and hit dozens of other targets and by the end, two NATO battalions had been effectively eliminated.
The exercise commander said the results were “terrible” for NATO forces.
One NATO commander who watched it summarized his conclusion in three words:
“We are fucked.”
